SUE PLATT

Posted: 6th May 2013

I have seen Sue Platt's work several times now and I really like the eclectic and quirkiness about it.

I also really like her studios space in Moseley!

There is something quite comforting about the age and 'historical' feel of the found objects within the work, yet unsettling about how they are brought together.

The strange and macabre Victoriana vibe - about how science and invention was so exciting and the beginnings of endless possibilities but also on the verge of potentially unacceptable ethics.

I also really like her little painted Jelly Baby - her own historical artefact.
