One of the most basic ways of altering a space is through the use and control of light.
Here are some ideas around the use of light...
The best scenario for me would be to get some lights that could either be battery or mains operated - meaning that I could leave the same lights within the fabric of the tent and then just sway energy sources over when it got to the gallery.
It seems that there isn't a market for such a versatile product. I have found some that can do this, but they are novelty lights by Blaze on - with fairies or lanterns etc. You can only get about 15 lights for £30, as well as the work of destroying pretty lights just for their bulbs.
Another option is to get some battery lights, then get some mains lights to swap over, but that is a lot of work during a time when I could be focusing on other things.
I could also perhaps buy one of these lights to then put it onto a longer different string of lights, but I would be paying £30 for a battery box that I could get from Maplins and I wouldn't want to mess with different transformers or electric in general!
In my research I have found some lights which might be a good compromise - timed lights that are battery operated...
Bethlemen Lights - My supervisor told me about these; I'd never even consider QVC as being cheap enough to buy from but some of the lights look gorgeous. Only problem is they have all sold out now.

Other options are LED with remote control:

These could be the ones...!
Battery Operated 7.2m Length Of 96 White Indoor & Outdoor Multi Effect LED Fairy Lights With Timer On Clear Cable
£29.95 (inc P&P)
They turn on for 6 hours for up to 15 days (would have to test) so the gallery staff wouldn't have to do a thing! I could just come in a few times and change the batteries while I'm photographing any comments.
