Found these odd plates in my Grandma's kitchen while packing up to move. Reminds me of beauty in the everyday...

It's interesting as well how patterns remind me so much of sausages and mash at my Grandma's and Grandad's when I stayed over when I was little.

I don't remember the one on the left - must have been too posh to get it out of the cupboard. But the other one I could never forget - I never liked those dark brown dreary designs of the 70's that were old and outdated in the 80's. But now that plate takes me right back to nights after school and the telly on really loud; my Grandad shouting at the news presenters.

You might remember the big events and traumas, but you also remember the banal and everyday...
