It can be the seemingly little things that make all the difference.
One of these was meal times. We'd bought a table, but the wheels wouldn't work on carpet so that was no good. Grandma has resorted to then eating with a tray on her lap, but because of the way she sits, she couldn't eat and hold the plate there at the same time.
I came up with the idea of a sliding shelf that would be the right height for her to eat off, but also wouldn't get in the way for using it as a trolley.
I bought some drawer sliders and cut some wood to size - making a sliding shelf, like a computer table.
Obviously we couldn't alter the trolley in any way as it isn't owned by Grandma, so I drilled holes and tied it on with thick cable ties.
And although it doesn't look the most fashionable - it does work, is easy to clean, moves out of the way and means that Grandma can eat comfortably.

This was an idea that has been developed for my Grandma.
