This was a technique I used within a clay project.

Using a glue gun to create shapes onto a cardboard tile, I used this to press into the clay for the repeating pattern.

Within my own work, this got me thinking about how I could shape and form repeating patterns into mouldable or castable materials.

Another example, with ceramic paints:

From these pieces I thought about creating shapes within clay, but it doesn't quite have the same feel as actual building materials like plaster or cement.

So, I have begun exploring different ways of casting these materials...
