This, similar to Gabriel Dawe's work could be an interesting way to alter a space. It can create smaller spaces with not much being physically there - sensitively and with a sense of transcience.
This reminds me of the Plasticity exhibition I saw in London a few years ago. They had the same idea using door curtains for refridgerators - Science Museum

I liked this idea at the time as well, think it must have stuck with me. How something so small can affect a space.
