I saw these 'sculptural spaces' a little while ago at the Turnpike Gallery in Leigh.

I think these sculptures are fantastic - I really love them!

I love the strangeness, 'other-world-ness', largeness and way in which they are complete spaces that you can get immersed within.

The bright colours, textures, shapes and they way in which colour and light are used within them too is just wonderful.

It was a shame as when I saw them though as they did look a little worse for wear. I think they were a few year old already when they were are the Turnpike and had beared witness to a few festivals or two so bits were broken and the fur looked a little flat here and there, but

This tent like structure is quite interesting with the lighter fabrics and ways in which the space is suspended.

Within in my project I would love to create a similar feel with the use of textures, fabrics, patterns and colourful light within the space I create.

Although I imagine this type of sculpture could be quite scary - and a health and safety nightmare (!) for some older people. But I like the feel and idea of the mood and ambience of these podules.
