"The Conch [Sound Studio] is the latest work by artists Zoë Walker & Neil Bromwich. Commissioned by IOTA to make work in response to the Expo site, the conch is a mobile structure, part shell / part ark constructed from local larch and housed on a car trailer. The artists have used the conch to conduct interviews with people living in a diverse range of communities around Inverness including Cromarty, Merkinch and Findhorn. The resulting soundtrack - experienced inside the Conch - draws on the interactions the artists had with the Highland public over the last few months. This part of the project has continued to develop and grow as the artists have met and interviewed a wide range of visitors at Scotland’s Housing Expo site."

Almost like a confession booth on wheels, I like the idea that this sculptural space is used as a focus of discussion about the local area.
The idea of the extra-ordinary is at play here; where an external stimulus is added to promote new ideas generation and alternative interactions with a space/between people.
