After hearing Dr Kate Wells talk at the Head to Head international conference about the project she managers in South Africa - the Siyazama Project I was fascinated with the bead story vases they created.

The project's name means 'we are trying' and is a group of women using traditional bead crafts to create art.

Such beautiful objects. This I feel is such a special example of community arts/facilitator collaborations at its finest.
The bead work's integrity and traditions are being highlighted and ehanced through a professional's expertise; a well balanced collaboration.
